Semblanza Sonja Wolf es Catedrática CONACYT asignada al Programa de Política de Drogas en el Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, México. Previamente, se desempeñó como investigadora en el Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y el Instituto para la Seguridad y la Democracia (Ciudad de México). Sus investigaciones se enfocan en la violencia, las pandillas callejeras, la migración y el desplazamiento, así como las políticas de seguridad y de drogas. Ha publicado en el Journal of Latin American Studies y Latin American Politics and Society, y su libro Mano Dura: The Politics of Gang Control en El Salvador se publicó en 2017 por la University of Texas Press.
